WELCOME TO MY BLOG!

I am so excited to finally have a (free) space where I can talk about all my different businesses - both online and offline.

First - about me. My name is Vicki Ferguson. I live in Calgary AB Canada. I have been a Calgarian since 1971 and I'm truly PROUD of my city. Although I love it here, it's been growing way too fast for my family. Our goal is to build our dreamhome just outside Calgary. We don't want to lose everything that Calgary has to offer, but we just can't handle the traffic any longer!

I am married to a wonderful and supportive husband who just started a brand new career a couple of weeks ago. I'm very proud of him as I know how difficult it can be totally change your career after 25 years in the same industry.

We have 2 beautiful daughters. I'm not kidding - these girls are gorgeous! The oldest turns 13 tomorrow (I'm too young to have a teenager!) and our youngest is 5 1/2. Our 13 yr old is an Honor Role Student (brilliant too!) and our little girl outshines the rest in kindergarten.

Call us crazy, but we have 5 cats. Count 'em. That's FIVE male cats. We never need to go out for entertainment. We just spend the evening watching our boys be themselves. Nicky is 10, Murphy is 7, Marley is 3, the brothers Caramel Macchiato (Macc) and Moccachino (Mocca) are 8 months.

Yes we have a busy house. I'm not much for housework, but I do keep it tidy. There's just so many other things I'd rather do than housework. Like play with my kids, or the cats, or have a quiet coffee with my hubby, or work my businesses.

There we go - the intro into the businesses. It's about time!

1) Purr-Fect Companions Cat Care: my in-home cat-sitting service. I started this business almost 18 year ago. It was a part-time venture until my oldest daughter was born - then I never went back to work at the veterinary clinic I'd been with for 5 years. Are you kidding?? Driving around from home to home, petting cats, feeding them, and yes - scooping the litterbox was WAY more fun that working for someone else. The only downfall to this "job" is I work 7 days a week and pretty well every single holiday. I book the occasional time off for a vacation, but not much. I currently have 2 other sitters working for me as the city simply to too big for me to cover on my own. My goal is someday operate as manager and have other sitters do all the running around. Maybe even sell franchises in other cities?!?

2) Picture Perfect Party Wraps: this was a very unique little idea I found almost 3 years ago. It's not MLM. We actually purchase the software and wrappers from the company and customize them on our computer. Then we wrap Hershey bars (full sized and mini bite-sized) with the wrappers. Voila! A personalized chocolate baby announcement, Christmas card, wedding favor, child's birthday party favor, business card, promotional item, invitation, shower giveaway, Mother's Day card, place card, fundraising item, etc.

The possibilities for these wrappers is endless! We can even personalize matchbooks - now called mintbooks, and waterbottles! My site need some updating but take a look HERE.

3) Scents That Inspire: Absolutely the BEST smelling and best performing candles you'll ever come across! My complete story is on the WEBSITE, but a brief rundown: both hubby and I have always loved scented candles. But he developed some breathing difficulties and his doctor told us No More Candles! As hard as that was, we stopped burning candles in our home. Then just over a year ago, I came across these "cleaner burning" vegetable wax-based candles online and tried one. Hubby had NO reactions whatsoever. SOLD! I joined the MLM company in March 06 and have built quite a little team. The company is US based so my online sales are all in the States. My team is all Alberta - go figure! I'm not allowed to post the company name or the product name because of company policy but my company WEBSITE show it all.

Personally, I find scented candles add so much to the mood of a room. I'm not an interior decorator so I simply change the scent to change the room. Try it! It's unbelievable how much the scent changes everything! Visitors to you home will feel more than welcome when the scent of Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper (our signature scent) or Water Lily & Jasmine hits them.

And how about your mood? Need to relax? Slip into a warm bath with a couple lit votives strategically placed in the bathroom. Relaxing scents: try French Lavender, Country Spice or Spice Shoppe.

Try our spa scents like Cucumber Cantelope or Coconuts & Lime to rejeuvenate and uplift.

Need to re-energize? I recommend Green Tea, Heart of the Ocean or Green Clove & Aloe. Yes - these are candle scents!

Want to create a romantic mood? By far the most romantic scent is Victorian Rose, followed closely by Sex on the Beach. Need I say more??

Want to feel refreshed? Clean Cotton and Japanese Pear will clean the room around you, giving that summer breeze feeling any time of year.

Want feelings of your younger years? Remember the days back in grandma's kitchen? Get that homey feeling back with Cinnamon Raisin Bun, Banana Nut Bread or Hot Apple Pie.

Bring summer indoors with Juicy Ripe Watermelon or Georgia Peach or Fresh Apple.

Every single one of our 90+ scents is extremely true-to-life. No fake perfumey smells. And the jar candles last forever! As you can see, I am over excited that these candles and will always tell everyone I meet about them. I have brochures and scent samples available. Just email me.

4) My newest venture. A new Canadian company offering spa-quality bath and body products along with soy candles with the most unique frangrances I've ever seen. Maple Tree Hill makes all their products by hand, working closely with a Certified Aromatherapist in their little shop in Ontario. Although I love the candles from my other company, my fellow Canadians aren't able to shop online. So I went looking for another option for Canadians. Plus I was on the lookout for high quality, home spa products. Then I found Maple Tree Hill which had both.

The candles with their unique Canadian Province-based scents really caught my eye. Check these out:

Muskoka Boathouse: Picture yourself on the deck of a Muskoka Cottage. Great combination of musk, cedar and saffron.

White Trillium (Ontario): Smells just like the official Ontario flower. A customer favorite. Great light smell for all flower lovers.

Wild Rose (Alberta): Just like the official Rose of Alberta. Wonderful scent for all flower lovers.

Saskatoon Berry (Saskatchewan): For all berry lovers! Full, sweet smell. Honestly, it smells like grape bubblegum!

Maple Cashmere: Wonderful unique fragrance! Maple with musky undertones a hint of vanilla.

Maple Syrup: Just like the real thing!

Butter Pecan Tart: Almost good enough to eat!

You have GOT to try these scents!!

Then the bath bombs - oh how I LOVE a great smelling bath bomb! Then I tried the bath salts, body moisturizer, coffee body scrub (this one is excellent!) and dead sea salt scrub. These products are beyond wonderful! And the spa candles are all natural, made with essential oils (not frangrance oils) so they can be used as massage candles.

Another item I really like because it goes along with my personalized chocolates is the personalized travel candle. They make excellent wedding favors with the names of the Bride and Groom and their wedding date embossed on the top. Or they make an appreciated gift for someone special.

Well those are my businesses.

I hope you'll take the time to visit my blog often as I discuss the products and my successes with the products. I'm sure there will be a failure or two, but I'll talk about those bridges when I come to them.

Have a great Thursday. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my lovely daughter!

Vicki
